Heimgartner Makes Comeback Win

Andre Heimgartner has fought back from a first lap off to win the first race of Round 3 of the BNT V8's at Mike Pero Motorsport Park in Christchurch.

Having taken the Pole earlier that day, Heimgartner Locked up his Superlux camary at the first corner and ran off onto the grass at the front of the 11 car field.
He wasn't the only one having problems with Matthew Tubbs Nudging the barrier.
With Richards Team Motorsport team-mate Jason Bargwanna leading, Heimgartner quickly passed the Class 2 cars and set after fourth place driver Lance Hughes.
The #84 Hamilton Asphalts Commodore spun on lap 2, though outside footage was inconclusive as to whether the Supercars Driver was Involved.
Heimgartner soon made his move into second before the Safety car came out for the stranded car of Tubbs whipped Bargwanna's five-second lead. Upon Restart Heimgartner pressured Bargwanna, the two touching shortly after as Heimgartner made his way through. The new Nissan Motorsport Recruit Led Bargwanna to the flag with Ross in third and Hughes Fourth.

Chelsea Herbert Won class 2 with 5th outright, As Smith crossed the line ninth after serving a drive through for spinning Ross.
