Verschoor Wins First Toyota Series Race Of the Season

Richard Verschoor has drawn first blood by winning the first Race of the 2018 Toyota Racing Series at Mike Pero Motorsport Park.
The Dutch Driver got the Jump from the outside of the front row and took a fairly comfortable victory in the 15-Lap Race around Ruapuna Park.
Robert Shawartzman of Russia Took Pole but made a sluggish start and just hung on to second position, where he stayed for the remainder of the race.
Christchurch Native Marcus Armstrong made an M2 Competition One-Two-Three, Shielding off James Pull early on before setting Clement Novalak for a move at the start of lap 5.
Novalak ultimately finished 5 seconds off the pace of Armstrong in fourth, With Pull a similar margin further back.
Pukekohe's Taylor Cockerton held up for sixth position thanks to a heated manoeuvre on Calvin Ming.
Having pressured for a considerable amount of laps, Cockerton Stuck on the outside of car #44 through the first corner on Lap 14 and managed to pass when Ming slid wide at pothole corner.
2 More Races would be held on the Sunday, Including the Lady Wigram Trophy.
